KKR target Qualifier 1

The dynamics for Kolkata Knight Riders is very simple. KKR currently have two matches remaining, 1 against Gujarat Titans and the other against second placed Rajasthan Royals. Should KKR go on to beat GT today then even if RR win all their games, Sanju Samson will highly unlikely not topple KKR to take the top spot.

Either way, even if KKR fail to take the top, they would take the second spot, courtesy of same points but a lower NNR. On the flip side, it is extremely important for Shubman Gill’s Gujarat Titans to secure a win by big margin to remain alive in the hunt for the playoffs.

A loss for GT will essentially it is game over the last season’s runners-up. But for KKR, this match means every thing for the Kolkata outfits. A guaranteed place in Qualifiers 1. The benefit, the winning team advances directly to the final, the losing team has another chance to play Qualifier 2 against the winner of the Eliminator.
