T20 World Cup squad: As of now, it seems that the Indian bowling unit is set, with a three-way battle between Avesh Khan, Ravi Bishnoi and Axar Patel.

The Indian squad for the T20 World Cup is expected to be out on Saturday, and the crux of the team looks settled. Apart from one or two players, there won’t be any difficult choices for the Ajit Agarkar-led selection panel, who will get on a call with skipper Rohit Sharma, to take his inputs.

Pace Attack Settled, Three-way Battle for One Spot

If a report from PTI is to be believed, as expected, Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav are bound to make the cut. So are, Arshdeep Singh, Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Siraj. Now the only problem is selecting a player among Axar Patel, Ravi Bishnoi and Avesh Khan.

While Avesh can be a great bet, given his prowess in the death overs, Axar with the bat and bowling skills, can be a great asset in the West Indies, where the tracks are expected to be slow and low.

T20 World Cup Squad Deadline

The deadline for the announcement of 15-member squad is May1, and the changes can be made till May 15. That would give the Indian selectors, to maybe reward some strong performers during the IPL 2024, where the efforts of Riyan Parag, and Mayank Yadav cannot be overlooked.

Axar Patel, in IPL 2024, has scored 123 runs for Delhi Capitals in nine matches. On top of that, he has seven wickets at an economy of 7.06, that make him a solid contender. On the other hand, Ravi Bishoi has picked five wickets in eight matches, and his economy has been 8.47. Lastly, Avesh in eight matches has as many wickets, and given runs at an economy of 9.42.
