Rishabh Pant has just made his comeback to Team India after 524 days. And the ace southpaw has already sealed the keeper’s spot for India Cricket Team in the ICC T20 World Cup. Why Rishabh Pant?

After a rather successful season with Delhi Capitals in IPL 2024, there were still doubts on Rishabh Pant. But the 26-year-old silenced his critics with a blazing display with his bat. Pant hammered a majestic fifty on his return to the National Team.

Promoted up the order, Rishabh Pant came to bat at number 3. He quickly got his job done. The destructive southpaw hammered 4 fours and 4 sixes to reach his fifty before retiring out. With a dominant display with the bat and a fine show on the crease, Pant is now the the number 1 candidate to keep wickets for India in the T20 World Cup.

No chance for Sanju Samson

Fans were left surprised after Sanju Samson opened the innings with Rohit Sharma. But Samson’s stay in the crease was very short. He fumbled and was ultimately dismissed on 1 run from 6 balls.

Sanju Samson had a good season in IPL 2024 with Rajasthan Royals. He promoted himself up the order to bat at 3 and got the runs flowing in numbers. But come the National team, Samson failed to flourish yet again. And with his position rival, Rishabh Pant hammering a fifty, it is now an opportunity wasted for the RR skipper.
