Qualification scenario for Super 8 for Group A

USA (5 points, 1.127 NRR)

The USA cricket team got off to a dream start in the T20 World Cup. Entering the tournament as the underdogs, the side led by Monak Patel stunned the world after handing Pakistan a huge upset in what was a nail-biting tie. The team has secured a spot in the Super 8, with their game against Canada being washed out.

India (6 points, +1.137 NRR)

India have confirmed their slot in the Super 8 stage with their win against the USA. India will next take on Canada in their final match of the group stage.

Canada (2 points, -0.274 NRR)

Canada have just one win under their belt, having secured a win against Ireland after starting off their T20 World Cup campaign after a loss to the USA. They will take on Pakistan in their next match, in what is a must-win encounter for the side in order to stay alive in the race for a spot in the Super 8.

Pakistan (2 points, +0.191 NRR)

Pakistan keep their hopes of making it to the Super 8 stage alive by clinching their first win of T20 WC against Canada. Babar Azam and co. are still in a dangerous position and need to win the one remaining game – against Ireland – in order to fancy a chance. However, both India and USA, who are on top of the table with four points each might be a hurdle in Pakistan’s way. The Men in Green will have to hope that either India or USA or both will lose their remainder of matches in order to proceed.

Ireland (0 points, -1.712 NRR)

Ireland are out of the tournament, having failed to secure a single win so far. Their match vs USA was washed out on June 14, and now have only one match left against Pakistan on 16th.
