The conflict began when a Mumbai Indians fan, excited by a six, started shouting abuses at an LSG supporter. The situation quickly escalated as the Mumbai fan attempted to physically confront another spectator. Thankfully, the scuffle did not escalate further, and the situation was soon brought under control.

Lucknow Super Giants out of IPL 2024 Playoffs despite win MI vs LSG
In the match itself, LSG emerged victorious, defeating Mumbai Indians by 18 runs. Despite this win, which brought LSG’s total to 14 points on the table, they were still eliminated from IPL 2024. This marks the first time LSG will miss the playoffs after successfully qualifying in their first two seasons.
