“I am struggling to put things into context. It’s hard to do so when all you’ve had is a five-minute phone call and nothing else and you are thrown out” Broad wrote in his Mail on Sunday column.

Broad gets Kohli Treatment: 35 year old Broad has 537 Test wickets to his credit & has played 152 tests for England. But England selectors did not show any RESPECT to Broad & according to him for no reason ‘he was shown the EXIT DOOR’.
Broad along with fellow pacer James Anderson, who is the country’s record wicket taker with 640 victims, were dropped following the 4-0 Ashes rout in Australia.
“I took 11 wickets in the final two Ashes matches, I have been Test match standard for a long time and, for the last eight years, you would say world class,” he said.
“I could take being dropped if I had let my standards slip but facing up to being overlooked when they haven’t is another thing altogether.
Both Anderson & Broad were left out of the squad to play a three-match Test series in the West Indies next month. And the episode according to Broad is affecting him badly.
“No, I can’t pretend I am as good as gold, because I am not. It would be wrong to act like everything’s OK.”
“And so, it makes it even more upsetting that they don’t see me part of their immediate plans, especially with a view to looking at a way of winning away from home, which was briefly explained to me.
“That’s why I was so outspoken when I was left out against West Indies in Southampton a couple of years ago. It felt unjust. The same again here.”
England’s first Test against the West Indies in Antigua starts on March 8.
It is worth noting that former India captain Virat Kohli also has accused that BCCI & the Indian selectors just made one phone call to tell him that ‘he is no longer a ODI skipper’.
He revealed that he came to know about the decision only 90 minutes prior to the official announcement.
Thus, this opened a pandora of box. Kohli’s explosive presser exposed the dire straits between the board, selectors and the superstar cricketer. And now the same thing is happening in England Cricket set-up.
