Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan haven’t just helped Gujarat Titans (GT) but also Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Their unbeaten 205-run stand against the Delhi Capitals (DC) has aided all three teams to qualify for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 Playoffs.
Earlier today, PBKS beat the Rajasthan Royals (RR), and RCB gained a point after a washout against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). This meant that all 3 teams had at least 17 points, and since neither DC nor LSG can gain more than 17 and 16 points, they are through to the final four.
Chanceless Gill & Sudharsan
Coming back to the match, Gill and Sudharsan batted like a dream. Apart from one DRS chance, which was originally given not out, they gave no DC bowler a chance. There were no tough chances going down or a fielder getting fingertips to the ball. It was chanceless.
It’s impossible to even fathom that a team chased 200 without a wicket falling, and that too with an over to spare. But that’s exactly what Gill and Sudharsan did. Sai even scored his second IPL hundred, and Gill unfortunately fell 7 runs short as they chased the target down.
The opening duo have already scored 839 runs together in IPL 2025; no other batting pair has even scored 745 runs in a single season. But that’s how absurdly good they have been. And they won’t be stopping either.
