Schoolboy error: Fans slam Rizwan & Imam Ul Haq run-out blunder in Asia Cup opener

Imam departed on 6, while Rizwan walked back on 44 in the PAK vs NEP.

Pakistan wicketkeeper Mohammed Rizwan and opening batter Imam-ul-Haq were on the receiving end of criticism from Pakistan cricket fans following their runouts in the ongoing PAK vs NEP in Asia Cup 2023 opener.

After opting to bat, Pakistan started in terrible fashion as Imam went back to the pavilion in the 6th over with a run-out. The opener went for a risky single after hitting it towards mid-off and was run out with a direct hit.

Pakistan skipper Babar Azam, and wicketkeeper Md. Rizwan once again rescued the hosts with a brilliant partnership. However, the budding partnership ended abruptly after a casual approach from Rizwan.

In the 24th over, the 31-year-old tried to sneak a run after hitting the ball towards cover region. While it looked an easy single, Rizwan took evasive action to get out of the line of the throw and it left his bat and both feet in the air.

The fans took to Twitter for lashing out at Rizwan and Imam for throwing away wickets in crucial moments.
