Mumbai Indians won the toss and opted to bowl first against CSK at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai. MI managed to get an early breakthrough as they got rid of Ajinkya Rahane within the powerplay. Rachin Ravindra and Ruturaj Gaikwad stitched together a 50-run partnership before Shreyas Gopal put the breaks on the duo. The spinner got rid of Rachin Ravindra, thereby bringing Shivam Dube out to bat.
Dube and Gaikwad slammed half-centuries each as CSK went past the 150 run-mark.
