Rishabh Pant Accident: Police have said that Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant was ‘Lucky to survive’ after fatal car accident which happened on early Friday morning. Rishabh Pant Mercedes car suffered with a horrific car crash on the Delhi Dehradun Highway. The wicketkeeper-batter was coming from Delhi to Roorkee. Senior police official said that the wicket-keeper batsman was luck to survive after such a horrible crash. Swapn Kishore Singh, the Superintendent of Police, Haridwar (Rural) said, ” Hearing the loud sound of the accident, nearby villagers along with local cops rushed to the spot and pulled him out of the car. He was rushed to a nearby hospital after which he was referred to a major hospital in Dehradun”.

He added, “Pant suffered injury in his hand, forehead nd right knee. He is conscious and able to talk. The car he was driving was completely burnt. He is lucky to survive severe accident”.
Rishabh Pant’s car taken for further investigation
A police officer while speaking to the Times of India on condition of anonymity said,” It is likely that Pant fell asleep while driving. There was no fog on the road which could have affected the visibility. He has a cut on his left eyebrow and ligament injury on his right knee apart from having bruises on the back”.
He added,” The charred car has been taken for further investigation. It is not known whether the airbag has opened or not. There was nothing left inside to verify that. A probe is on”.
According to eyewitnesses, Rishabh Pant’s Mercedes car collided with the railing , after which it caught fire. The fire was brought under control with great difficulty. Pant, who was seriously injured in the accident, was then admitted to Roorkee Civil Hospital for primary treatment.

Rishabh Pant’s car accident
The star wicket keeper was alone in the Mercedes car when it went out of control and hit the dividing railings on the Delhi-Haridwar highway. The cricketer was rescued by villagers who rushed to the spot on hearing the noise. Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has instructed officials to ensure all possible arrangements for the treatment of Rishabh Pant. He has also asked to provide an air ambulance if required, stated CMO.
