With 201 to chase, RCB started off well, scoring 30 runs in the opening two overs. Suyash Sharma, a 19-year-old leg-spinner, gave the critical breakthrough in his very first over by dismissing Faf du Plessis, the player with the most runs scored in this IPL, after Nitish Rana promptly switched to spin.

In his subsequent over, he trapped Shahbaz Ahmed, and Chakaravarthy quickly eliminated Maxwell in the final over of the powerplay.

For the first time this season, RCB lost three wickets in the space of six overs, along with two of their top batsmen. As Kohli and Lomror formed a half-ton partnership, Lomror, who had a quiet tournament thus far, assumed the role of the aggressor.

In a span of five deliveries, KKR managed to get rid of both of the set hitters. Lomror was bowled out by a short delivery, and Venkatesh Iyer made an outstanding catch to end Kohli’s innings. After that, the visitors continued to contribute by taking wickets and never let RCB get back into the game.

Royal Challengers Bangalore won the Toss and elected to Field. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) led by interim captain Virat Kohli have gone unchanged. While inconsistent Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) today went with Vaibhav Arora in their playing 11 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

RCB defeated the Rajasthan Royals with a convincing victory owing to strong batting performances from Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell and nimble bowling from their defence, which kept the visitors’ total within 7 runs of their target. They currently occupie the fifth spot on the points table.

Prior to the partnership between Maxwell and du Plessis getting them back on track, RCB had to cope with a pair of early knocks after losing Virat Kohli and Shahbaz Ahamad in rapid succession. Despite a late collapse, the bowlers put on a great show of grit and perseverance, highlighted by Mohammad Siraj’s outstanding start and Harshal Patel’s outstanding performances to record their fourth victory of the season.

The Knights stumbled to their fifth loss of the year on Sunday at the Eden Gardens. With fifty-plus scores from Devon Conway, Ajinkya Rahane, and Shivam Dube, the Super Kings worked their way to a massive 235 runs, leaving KKR with a difficult job. The bowler of the match with statistics of 1/29 in his 4 overs was the youngster Suyash Sharma, who removed Ruturaj Gaikwad to break the opening partnership.

Even with heroic efforts from Jason Roy and Rinku Singh at the plate, the Knights were unable to defeat the Super Kings after setting them a record 236 to chase. KKR currently it at the eight spot on the points table.
