England cricket team will be forced to make a change in their playing XI for IND vs ENG 2nd T20I. The visitors suffered a 7-wicket thrashing at the hands of Suryakumar Yadav and co. as their bowlers crumbled under the might of the Indian top-order. Jos Buttler is expected to make one change to boost their spin department for the contest at the MA Chidambaram stadium.
Predicted England XI for 2nd T20I
- Phil Salt (WK)
- Ben Duckett
- Jos Buttler (C)
- Harry Brook
- Liam Livingstone
- Jacob Bethell
- Rehan Ahmed
- Gus Atkinson
- Jofra Archer
- Adil Rashid
- Mark Wood
Same batting line-up but needs to pull up socks
England will not make any changes to their batting order despite their batters performing poorly in the 1st T20I. With explosive batters like Salt, Duckett, Buttler, Livingstone and Bethell in their top five, the visitors will hope to see the batters return to scoring runs and put their destructive batting on display. Only skipper Buttler put up a lone warrior fight in the 1st T20I managing to score 68 runs while the rest of the batting order barring Brook (17) failed to go past single-digit scores.

Rehan Ahmed to be added to XI
England are expected to include Rehan Ahmed in the playing XI for the 2nd T20I, given that the pitch at MA Chidambaram stadium is expected to favour the spinners. The visitors only have one other specialist spinner in the side in the form of Adil Rashid apart from Ahmed. Livingstone and Bethell, both who are spin all-rounders, can provide the much-needed support to the two specialist spinners. Besides, England could have made a mistake during the squad selection by not getting more specialist spinners.
With only Archer tasting success in Kolkata, England will hope that Atkinson and Wood will be able to deliver in Chennai.
