PCB’s latest attempt to make PSL wannabe IPL: Pakistan’s very own ‘Dharamshala’ stadium

The Pakistan Cricket Board has made a new promise to bring more popularity to the PSL, its latest initiative to match the craze for IPL

In its latest attempt to bring Pakistan Super League to the level of IPL, the PCB has decided to install floodlights at the stadium in Quetta. The stadium in Quetta, placed at a high-altitude, is similar to that of India’s Dharamshala stadium, which has hosted many international as well as IPL games so far. The installation of floodlights in the stadium at Quetta will pave way for the PCB to organize PSL matches at the venue, bringing more popularity to the league with a touch of scenery.

“Holding of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches in Quetta is being mulled over,” he said while addressing a press conference during his visit to Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti Cricket Stadium.

The PCB also seems to have finally woken up from a slumber to allow its franchises in PSL to sign one big player each outside the draft, as per reports.

Further, it confirmed that the PSL 2025 season will be held from April 7 to May 20 in Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi. The franchises were previously against the idea of hosting the event against the IPL, but the PCB has gone ahead with the decision despite their concerns.
