PCB to announce Pakistan Squad for T20 World Cup soon, Mohammad Rizwan fitness boost for Men in Green

Pakistan Cricket Board to announce Pakistan Cricket Squad for T20 World Cup soon as Mohammad Rizwan & others near 100% fitness

The Pakistan Cricket Team squad for ICC T20 World Cup is set to be announced soon. Before that the Pakistan squad for the tour of England will be decided. PCB will check on the progress of the players in the Ireland and England series before announcing the squad for the ICC T20 World Cup.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) believes that they have enough time at their disposal to select the squad. They feel there is no need to announce the squad such early before the start of the tournament. On the other hand, Mohammad Rizwan and others are nearing to reach 100% fitness.

“We have got enough time at our disposal to finalise a 15-member squad for the World Cup. The ICC has already set a deadline of May 25 to submit names of 15 players for the T20 World Cup. There is no wisdom in announcing the World Cup squad at this point of time. We can avail the opportunity to watch the players’ progress during the Ireland and England series before naming the squad,” a Pakistan Cricket Team official told The News.

Injury Concerns in Pakistan Team

There are quite a few players who are injured. But good news for the Men in Green. Almost every player is nearing to reach 100% fitness. Mohammad Rizwan who suffered an injury recently is regaining fitness with the likes of Azam Khan and Irfan Niazi.

“Mohammad Rizwan, Azam Khan and Irfan Khan Niazi have almost regained fitness, while Haris Rauf who has yet to play any international or national event since January is yet to regain fitness though he is busy training these days in Lahore. Hopefully, Haris will be considered for selection against Ireland and England,” the official added.
