Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings are two of the eight franchises that have played in the league since its inaugural season. The Royals did not have to wait much, as they sealed the IPL title in the first edition in 2008, whereas the Punjab Kings are yet to win an IPL title.
The two teams have faced each other 25 times. The Royals were victorious in 14 of them, while the Kings were victorious in 11. In the last match in Guwahati, Punjab scored 197 runs in the first innings and restricted RR for 192. Nathan Ellis dismissed four of RR batters for 30 runs and ensured a victory for the Kings.
