Coming to the Asia Cup, India had already secured their spot in the final after winning their Super 4 encounter against Sri Lanka. However, their last Super 4 clash against Bangladesh ended in defeat. They will now square off against their southern neighbors and defending champions (T20 format) Sri Lanka at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Sunday, September 17.

As the Asia Cup draws to a close, Rohit Sharma & Co will be determined to conclude the tournament on a winning note, setting the stage for the upcoming ICC ODI World Cup 2023. Winning the Asia Cup title would not only take India to the top of the ICC ODI rankings but also establish them as the number one team across all cricket formats.

The return of star players including Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Mohammed Siraj, and Kuldeep Yadav, who were rested in the previous match against Bangladesh, adds depth and experience to the Indian side. Although India faced a setback against Bangladesh in their last outing, they will enter the final against Sri Lanka as favorites.

Sri Lanka posed a challenge to the Indian side during the Super 4 stage, providing a closely contested encounter. As they prepare for the final clash, Sri Lanka will be undoubtedly backing themselves to upset the Indian side and emerge winners.
