While Indian fans continue to mourn their ICC Finals losing streak, Aussie players have continued their tradition of winning. A couple of months ago, Australia handed the India cricket team a soul-crushing defeat in the 2023 ODI World Cup Final. Now, to add to their misery, Australia’s junior (U19) side has lifted the U19 World Cup 2024 title by beating India’s junior team.
After lifting the U19 World Cup, one of Australia’s rising stars, Oliver Peake, copied Travis Head. The teenager replicated Head’s iconic celebration after Australia won the ICC World Cup 2023 thanks to his 137-run knock in the final.
Travis Head has been the India cricket team’s tormentor for the last year. The aggressive left-hander was the ‘player of the match’ in the ICC World Test Championship Final 2023 for his 181 runs in the match that helped Australia win by a whopping 208 runs.
He then returned from injury in the ODI World Cup 2023 midway through the tournament and eventually handed India a 6-wicket loss in the final owing to his blistering 137-run knock.
