Australia have yet again shown why they are the best cricket team in the world. India’s cricket team can have the richest board, highest-paid players, and IPL, but the trophies shall remain with Australia.
After a soul-crushing loss in the ODI World Cup Final in November, the junior Indian side (under-19) has been handed another heartbreaking loss by Australia. This time, they suffered another disappointment in the U19 World Cup 2024, losing the India vs Australia U19 Final by 79 runs.
Already being the reigning World Test Championships and the ODI World Cup winners, it seemed like the Kangaroos hadn’t quenched their thirst yet.
India favorites? Think again
The India cricket team has entered their last three ICC Finals as favorites. However, despite having that tag, they have been handed resounding defeats by Australia.
In the World Test Championship Final in June last year, the Men in Blue entered having beaten Australia twice in their own backyard in 2018-19 and 2020-21. But the Aussies are known for their big-time play, stepped up when it mattered, and thrashed India by 209 runs.
The same happened in the ODI World Cup Final. Coming into the Final undefeated, the Indian juggernaut basically had one hand on the trophy. But Pat Cummins and Co. have other things in mind. Their wish to ‘silence’ the Indian crowds worked, and they lifted their 6th ODI World Cup at Ahmedabad on November 19.
As if this wasn’t enough, now their junior side (U19) has joined the party. The Men in Yellow thrashed Uday Saharan and Co. by 79 runs in the India vs Australia U19 Final and handed India their third consecutive defeat in the ICC Finals.
