What if SRH vs LSG is washed out? Trouble brewing for MI, RCB & PBKS

SRH vs LSG: Mumbai Indians to get knocked out if SRH vs LSG match gets washed off, loser of PBKS vs RCB too suffer same fate

The Indian Premier League is ongoing in full swing. While some teams are striving hard to make it top 4, others continue to hustle hard to fight for a place in the playoffs. But things can be marred if the Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Lucknow Super Giants clash ends by washed out. In such a scenario, Mumbai Indians will be officially knocked out as will be the loser of the PBKS vs RCB clash.

Why SRH vs LSG can be washed off?

IPL 2024 is currently taking place in peak summer conditions in India. While it is too early for Monsoon, there are major hints of rainfall and nor-westers in different regions of the country. One such game that can be washed off or at least rain curtailed is the SRH vs LSG clash.

There is a 60-65% chance of heavy rainfall in Hyderabad as per the latest weather predictions. Should the city of Nizams experience heavy rainfall and the match can’t proceed, in such a case, both LSG and SRH will be awarded a point apiece. This means trouble for the backbenchers.

Mumbai Indians occupy the penultimate spot in the Points Table. While MI are on a 2 match winning streak, it could end up to nothing, if the game gets washed off. A wash off means Lucknow moves to the 4th spot with 13 points after getting a solitary point from the game.

This means even if Mumbai wins their remaining 2 matches, they will manage to score 12 points which won’t be enough. On the flip side, the loser of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Punjab Kings match will also suffer the same fate. Both teams are currently on 8 points. That means, the losing team will also make it to 12 points if they win the remaining 2 games.
