Former England fast bowler Stuart Broad is delighted to see Ben Stokes and Co. competing in the ongoing IND vs ENG Test series.
Despite coming in the series as massive underdogs, England displayed fearless performance as they went 1-0 by defeating India in opening Test in Hyderabad.
The visitors showed gutsy batting approach in the second Test as well despite ending on the losing side in the second Test in Visakhapatnam.
With the series tied at 1-1 ahead of the 3rd Test, Broad said the ongoing series has been one of the most exciting battles he has seen between both sides.
“I think in both Test matches, we were really competitive on to the first one, we won, second one, we lost, but we’re still competitive. And I think it’s, probably one of the most exciting England vs India series that I’ve seen because it’s probably the most level that I’ve seen”, Broad said to PTI.
On being asked who has the upper hand going into the third Test in Rajkot, Broad said that it will depend of the fitness of Indian players.
“There is news that [Jasprit] Bumrah can be rested in the next game, which is a great opportunity for England to try and strike, with him not in the team. Jadeja holds the key. He missed the last match with hamstring injury. So, a lot more did we depend on the fitness of of the Indian players, but also the quality of cricket that England will bring as well”, the former England pacer further added.
