DC vs PBKS, IPL 2026: Punjab Kings record highest successful run chase

Follow live updates of Delhi Capitals vs Punjab Kings in IPL 2026, Match No. 35 from the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

DC vs PBKS, IPL 2026: The Punjab Kings (PBKS) have created history. They’ve chased down 265 against the Delhi Capitals (DC). It’s not just the highest successful chase in IPL but in T20 history. Despite KL Rahul’s 152-run knock, PBKS collectively hunted down the target in 18.5 overs.

PBKS ace the chase

Punjab started the chase with a bang, and expectedly so. Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh scored 116 in the powerplay. The latter smashed an 18-ball fifty and scored 71 runs in the powerplay alone. DC came back into the game and sent both the openers and Cooper Connolly back by the 10th over. Shreyas Iyer took over from there. He was helped by DC as Karun Nair dropped him twice, but he and Shashank Singh took them home in just 18.5 overs.

KL Rahul brilliance

Delhi Capitals captain Axar Patel won the toss and opted to bat. While Pathum Nissanka continued his poor form, KL Rahul lambasted runs for fun. He punished everything outside the off-stump, while Nitish Rana also showed spark early in his innings and eventually made 74 off 38. But the day belonged to KL Rahul, who smashed his 6th century and even went bonkers after it. He made 152* and took Delhi to the highest IPL 2026 score (264/2).

  • 262 - PBKS vs KKR, Kolkata, 2024

DC vs PBKS Live Score: Captain's knock from Shreyas Iyer

25/04/2026 19:36

Shreyas has been lucky, dropped twice, but he's made Delhi pay for their mistakes. He's scored 62 off 31 already, ensuring Punjab don't lose their way after 3 quick wickets. Now, it should be a walk in the park.

DC vs PBKS Live Score: Shreyas Iyer dropped twice

25/04/2026 19:26

Has Karun Nair just dropped the match? It's an easy catch and he fails to grab it. He had just taken a tough catch at long off and drops a sitter, that too of well set Shreyas Iyer. Vipraj was down on his haunches.

Next over, he drops another easy catch. Shreyas escapes again. This time at long on. An absolute shit show. What are DC doing here?

DC vs PBKS Live Score: Captaincy error?

25/04/2026 19:21

Spin was doing the trick, but Axar chose to bowl Natarajan. He goes for 16 runs. With PBKS back on top, Axar brings Vipraj back, holding Kuldeep back. What happens? He goes for 8 off 2 balls. Luckily, he gets Wadhera's wicket but this decision could still be one of the reasons why DC might lose.

DC vs PBKS Live Score: Spin doing the trick

25/04/2026 19:07

Shreyas Iyer is taking the charge, hitting Vipraj and Kuldeep for a six each. Axar has bowled himself out. Meanwhile, Nehal Wadhera has yet to find his range. We know he's a slow starter.

DC vs PBKS Live Score: Kuldeep gets Connolly

25/04/2026 18:52

The game is flipping on its head. From 126/0 in 6.4 overs, the score is 145/3 in 9.2 overs. Spin is doing the trick. The ball is stopping and spinning enough. Kuldeep has struck twice in 8 balls. A google on the off stump that Connolly doesn't read and it hits the middle stump as he plays for the ball going away.

DC vs PBKS Live Score: Mukesh Kumar drops Cooper Connolly

25/04/2026 18:48

Mukesh Kumar has made a meal out of an easy catch. A full ball on the leg from Axar to Cooper Connolly and Mukesh should've caught it easily. After grabbing the ball, he loses the balances and falls down with his leg touching the boundary. Stoinis had done something similar in the 1st innings and Rana returned to hurt PBSK.

DC vs PBKS Live Score: Kuldeep gets Prabhsimran

25/04/2026 18:45

DC are back in the game. In a space of 5 balls, they've sent both PBKS openers back. Kuldeep Yadav strikes in his first over. Prabh tries to pull Kuldeep but misses the ball entirely as the spinner bowls it slow on middle.

Prabh has done his job: 76 off 26. Now, it's on to the next batters.

DC vs PBKS Live Score: KL Rahul walks off

25/04/2026 18:40

KL Rahul has had enough. He's been struggling physically in what is a hot day in Delhi. Mind you, he batted the entire 20 overs in the first over. After Arya's wicket, he walks off the field with Tristan Stubbs taking over the keeping duties.

DC vs PBKS Live Score: WICKET

25/04/2026 18:38

Finally, DC have some relief. A short ball outside off and Priyansh Arya has hit it flat to deep midwicket, where Sameer Rizvi doesn't make a mistake. This is the opening DC needed.

Has the game already slipped from Delhi's hand?

DC vs PBKS Live Score: Ngidi's concussion sub

25/04/2026 18:27

Correction from before, Vipraj Nigam is the concussion sub for Lungi Ngidi. Dushmanta Chameera was warming up with the leg spinner has been picked as the replacement by DC.

DC vs PBKS Live Score: Ngidi taken to hospital

25/04/2026 18:19

Ngidi has been taken to the Max Hospital in Karol Bagh, which is about 7.5 kilometers away (30 minutes) from the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

DC vs PBKS Live Score: Ngidi off, Chameera in

25/04/2026 18:10

DC vs PBKS Live: Ngidi, Oh, No! 🤕

25/04/2026 18:01

Lungi Ngidi done for the day; stretched off the field

Worrying scenes in Delhi as Lungi Ngidi went down hard after mistiming a catch attempt. He backpedalled, missed it completely, and landed awkwardly on his head on the rock-hard Kotla outfield. The physio and doctor rushed in, stretcher out. He’s responsive but is ruled out of today's match.

Horrible scenes here in Delhi as an ambulance comes to the ground before medical team stretches him off the park. The entire crowd has felt silent.

DC vs PBKS Live Score: Good start for Arya, Prabh

25/04/2026 17:52

Tough for KL in Delhi's heat

Rahul needed the physio for heat exhaustion but pushed on, while Punjab came out firing. Priyansh and Prabhsimran smashed Mukesh for 21 in the 2nd over, including a gift full-toss six, racing to 36/0 chasing 229.

Prabhsimran Singh 20(6)
Priyansh Arya 14(6)

DC vs PBKS Live Score: Arya-Prabhsimran start run-chase

25/04/2026 17:44

What a start!

A six to start the run-chase as Priyansh Arya punishes a loose delivery by Auqib Nabi, who has come as an impact sub for Nissanka. However, Nabi bowled the rest of the over well before getting hit for another one on the last ball.

The starting required run rate for Punjab is over 13, and they have started the chase with a 15-run over. So, that's a plus as Prabhsimran also smashed his first ball out of the park.

25/04/2026 17:36

Read more about KL Rahul's masterclass from the story below.

DC vs PBKS Live Score: KL Rahul entertains with 152* as Delhi score 264/2

25/04/2026 17:28

The Delhi crowd have been thoroughly entertained as they braved heatwaves in the national capital. KL Rahul bossed the innings with an insane knock of 152* off 67. He has become the first Indian to score 150+ in IPL history. Strike rate of 227, silencing his critics with one of the best IPL innings ever.

A masterclass by the former PBKS captain, who sent the visitors on a leather hunt. Utter domination as Punjab rues Shashank Singh's early drop in the 3rd over to give Rahul a reprieve. Carnage from Rahul's bat, who also stitched the second-highest IPL partnership of 220 runs with Nitish Rana. Rana was superb in his own right but was outshone by Rahul's daddy hundred.

  • 175* – Chris Gayle vs PWI, Bengaluru, 2013
  • 158* – Brendon McCullum vs RCB, Bengaluru, 2008

DC vs PBKS Live Score: Nitish Rana fails before 100

25/04/2026 17:18

While he was in the shadows of KL Rahul's mayhem, it was Nitish Rana's 28-run over vs Bartlett that broke the door of utter chaos. Now, the southpaw started to go again as he smashed the same bowler for a six and a four to enter the 90s. However, a harmless full-toss proved to be his final call. A deserving century was left 9 runs away from him.

Nitish Rana 91(44) caught by Shreyas Iyer bowled by Xavier Bartlett  (4x11, 6x4)

Delhi Capitals (DC) - 255/2 in 19 overs (KL Rahul 145* off 63, David Miller 1 off 1)

DC vs PBKS Live Score: KL Rahul smashes records and Punjab bowlers (238/1 in 18)

DC vs PBKS Live Score: KL Rahul mayhem in Delhi (226/1)

25/04/2026 16:57

A nonchalant face, but a horrifying figure for bowlers today as KL Rahul probably scores the BEST-LOOKING IPL HUNDRED EVER. The lad just can't stop scoring today. Smashing his sixth IPL hundred, Rahul has been an utter mayhem. He has hit 126 off 54 so far, smashing at a SR of 233.33. Punjab are lost for ideas here. And obviously, KL Rahul jumps to the top of the Orange Cap list.

KL Rahul, take a bow.

  • Fastest hundred for DC in the IPL
  • Most hundreds by a wicketkeeper in the IPL
  • His fastest IPL century
  • With his second century for Delhi Capitals, KL Rahul now sits alongside Shikhar Dhawan and David Warner — each has two IPL hundreds for DC, the joint-most for the franchise.

DC vs PBKS Live Score: KL RAHUL GETS 100 😍😍

25/04/2026 16:52

Shashank Singh would be kicking himself for dropping a sitter when he was early in the innings. Arshdeep Singh had him, but the drop catch meant that the Delhi Capitals (DC) superstar has smashed a mind-blowing century, that too in just 48 balls. Elegance, pristine timing, ruthlessness, acceleration and Rahul has given the Arun Jaitley crowd something worth remembering in this scorching heat.

Top, top stuff for Rahul, who has surpassed MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina as IPL's 5th-highest run-getter.

KL Rahul's innings vs PBKS:
First 50 - 26 balls
Second 50 - 21 balls

DC vs PBKS Live Score: KL RAHUL, STOP ITTT!!

25/04/2026 16:45

Shreyas Iyer brought in his best pacer, Arshdeep, who endured a brutal 14th over, leaking 20 runs as Rahul tore into him. He started with an inventive lap for four, then smoked a flat-batted six and two more boundaries to race into the 90s. Rana rotated the strike with a single.

DC moved to 173/1, with Rahul 92 off 44 and Rana is 72 off 36, their 140* stand now PBKS’s highest second-wicket partnership conceded in IPL history.

DC vs PBKS Live Score: Nitish Rana with back-to-back 50

25/04/2026 16:33

Nitish Rana joins the bandwagon, and it is now his time to raise the bat after a fifty. He hammered 57 (30) in the last game against SRH, but his knock today has been fabulous. He was going at 37 off 26 before taking a liking to Xavier Bartlett.

Total mayhem in the 12th over, with Rana hammering the tall Aussie for 28 runs off an over! 🔥🔥🔥🔥

142/1 (12 overs)
Nitish Rana - 65 (32)
KL Rahul- 65(34)
Xavier Bartlett 0-52 (3.0)

DC vs PBKS Live Score: KL Rahul, you beauty 😍

25/04/2026 16:24

50 completed for KL Rahul and DC have 102/1 after 10

KL Rahul brought up a 'KL-Lassy' 26-ball fifty — his 43rd in IPL — just moments before Vyshak shelled a tough return chance, continuing his charmed but sexy knock. Just after his fifty, he has smashed two superb fours down the ground. Currently, his strike rate is over 200!

KL Rahul is carrying Delhi Capitals (DC) in the scorching heat at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

DC vs PBKS Live Score: Delhi is Delhi-ing! (87/1)

25/04/2026 16:14

Batting first for the first time this season, DC posted their highest Powerplay total of IPL 2026 so far.

DC's top Powerplay scores in IPL 2026:

  • 68/1 vs PBKS – Today
  • 66/2 vs CSK – Match 18
  • 63/0 vs GT – Match 14

DC vs PBKS Live Score: Delhi cruising with KL Rahul in form (78/1)

25/04/2026 16:09

After Nissanka fell cheaply in the powerplay, KL Rahul and Nitish Rana steadied things with a strong second-wicket stand. The pair looks well set and has given Delhi a solid base. Over 7 went for 10 off Chahal, leaving DC at 78/1 with Rahul on 43 and Rana on 24.
This was the fourth time that KL Rahul scored 35 or more off the first 15 balls of an IPL innings, the previous three had come in 2018 (twice) and 2019.

DC vs PBKS Live: Big over for Delhi (68/1)

25/04/2026 15:57

KL Rahul-Nitish Rana show 😍

Expensive over from Vijaykumar Vyshak as Delhi Capitals raced to 61/1. Nitish Rana struck back-to-back fours through cover and square drive, helped again by Shashank Singh’s misfield. The lad is having a poor outing on the field. After a single, KL Rahul finished with a six, pulling a full toss over fine leg. 16 came off it, with Rahul unbeaten on 30 (12 balls) and Rana on 20.

Shashank goes off the field for some time after horrible fielding efforts.

Delhi Capitals Score: 68/1 (5 overs)

Nitish Rana – 22 runs off 13 balls

KL Rahul – 35 runs off 16 balls

DC vs PBKS Live Score: What have you done, Shashank? 😳

25/04/2026 15:44

A simple catch dropped by Shashank!

KL Rahul gets a massive reprieve. Arshdeep Singh bowls one short, and Rahul sends it straight to the square leg fielder's throat. Shashank goes for a reverse cup but spills it. Arshdeep started to celebrate but stopped midway. Massive drop for PBKS.

However, that didn't allow DC to go unscathed as Nissanka is now caught off Arshdeep, who gets a wicket that he deserved. Nitish Rana is the new batter in.

Arshdeep’s extra bounce deceived Nissanka’s pull, producing a top edge that Prabhsimran caught comfortably. Nissanka fell for 11. However, KL Rahul (23* off 10) finished the over with a superb six.

Delhi Capitals Score: 45/1 (4 overs)

Nitish Rana – 11 runs off 7 balls

KL Rahul – 23 runs off 10 balls

DC vs PBKS Live Score: DC off to a flyer

25/04/2026 15:41

Xavier Bartlett, who bowled the second over, is pummelled for 15 runs, with KL Rahul scoring two boundaries and Nissanka smashing another one to the leg side. KL Rahul strikes over 170 against anything that is outside the off-stump, and Bartlett erred there only. Rahul looks supreme, with his two fours looking exquisite!

DC vs PBKS Live Score: Let the Play begin!

25/04/2026 15:32

So, the action is live now from the capital city. Arshdeep Singh sends down the first delivery to Pathum Nissanka, who missed it before tucking one towards square leg for a single. DC would be hoping that Nissanka shines as the pressure is on him in his maiden IPL season.
On the fourth ball, Nissanka got the first boundary of the day as he guides one to the vacant area towards fine leg. DC are 8 for no loss after the opening over.

DC vs PBKS Live Score: KL Rahul eye to overtake MS Dhoni

25/04/2026 15:19

With DC opting to bat first, KL Rahul has a great chance to climb up the ladder as far as the highest run-scorer in the IPL is concerned. He just needs 13 more runs to surpass MS Dhoni's tally. Against his old franchise, PBKS, Rahul can become the sixth-highest run-getter in IPL history.

Most IPL runs in history

  • Virat Kohli -8989
  • Rohit Sharma - 7183
  • Shikhar Dhawan -6769
  • David Warner -6565

DC vs PBKS Live Score: Toss update!

25/04/2026 15:04

Axar Patel has won 7 tosses in a row and he has opted to bat for Delhi Capitals against Punjab Kings. The pitch is expected to slow down a bit under the scorching sun.

DC vs PBKS Live Updates: Delhi-Punjab same same

25/04/2026 14:45

There will be no bad blood between the two teams with a lot of familiar faces. Shreyas Iyer made his name at Delhi Capitals before moving to Kolkata and then Punjab. PBKS coach Ricky Ponting was with Delhi for a long time. Priyansh Arya is a Delhi boy. David Miller played for PBKS, while DC's Ashutosh Sharma made his name with PBKS. KL Rahul led Punjab Kings and scored a tons of runs. And now, he plays for DC.

DC vs PBKS Live Updates: Mitchell Starc also joins Delhi

25/04/2026 14:39

After missing six matches due to an injury, Mitchell Starc has arrived, and he will be in the dugout of the Delhi Capitals. But will he play today? Unlikely as he has come to India just today.

DC vs PBKS Live Updates: Rehan Ahmed joins Delhi

25/04/2026 14:33

Delhi Capitals have one incoming flight from England, at least. Rehan Ahmed, who came in as a replacement for Ben Duckkett, has joined and not pulled out like his other two England teammates.

DC vs PBKS Match Preview: Punjab Kings

25/04/2026 14:27

Delhi, on the other hand, have started to come apart slightly. A 47-run defeat to SRH, with the bowling looking toothless in the absence of Mitchell Starc. The Australian has joined the camp but isn't expected to play, and Rehan Ahmed has come in for Ben Duckett. DC's batting concerns are real: KL Rahul, David Miller, Tristan Stubbs and Sameer Rizvi have all looked good in patches but never as a unit. Pathum Nissanka's flashy start hasn't translated into consistency.

DC need a comprehensive show from all their players as a unit to beat Punjab Kings. Else, their campaign will only go south.

DC vs PBKS Match Preview: Delhi Capitals

25/04/2026 14:19

Punjab Kings are doing something we haven't seen from them in a long time, winning everything. Five wins from five completed matches, plus a point from a washout, have them on 11 points and an NRR of +1.420 at the top of the IPL 2026 Points Table. The batting has been the headline act. Cooper Connolly is averaging 56 with a strike rate of 164, Priyansh Arya has scored 211 runs with a strike rate of 248.23, Prabhsimran Singh has 211 runs at SR 172, and Shreyas Iyer is going at 183.

Their 254/7 against LSG last week is the highest team total of IPL 2026 so far. There aren't many holes to point at.

DC vs PBKS Live Updates: Where do the teams stand?

25/04/2026 14:11

Punjab Kings are unbeaten so far after 6 matches and they are on top with 11 points, including a no-result. Delhi Capitals are sixth with 6 points.

Arun Jaitley Stadium Pitch Report

25/04/2026 13:53

In two matches at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in IPL 2026, there have been two sorts of games. In one, batters dominated and in the other, bowlers. It will depend on which pitch is in use for the DC vs PBKS clash.

The venue is normally a batter's playground with short boundaries, a fast outfield, and true bounce. But in the two games played here this season, the pitch has shown more nuance than that.

That said, the fundamentals haven't changed. It's still a high-scoring venue, and bowling first is still the preferred call. Batting under lights gets easier, and a side batting first will likely need to post 220 to feel safe. Daytime temperatures are expected to push 42°C in Delhi, which will make the toss-winning captain's life much easier if they're bowling first.

For PBKS, the spin angle is where this gets interesting. They've leaned heavily on Yuzvendra Chahal in big moments, and a wicket that's already gripped for Axar and Kuldeep should suit him just fine.

DC vs PBKS Head to Head

25/04/2026 13:43

Few rivalries are this neatly balanced. Across 34 IPL meetings, Delhi Capitals have a slight edge over Punjab Kings with 18 wins, including a Super Over one in 2020. Punjab have won 16.

Like their overall head-to-head record, Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals share the same fate at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Both teams have won six and lost six.
