That left some questions for the Chennai team, and the changes that they should be making for the upcoming matches.
Something in the pitch?
When CSK started out in the first innings, it just gave an impression, that there was uneven bounce on the pitch, and the spinners were generating a lot of turn. And that meant, they could only score 27/3 at the end of the PP. For a very long time, their innings could not get on track, and it appeared that the team won’t even reach 100. But then Ruturaj Gaikwad toiled hard, and managed to score 74 from 60, while Shivam Dube and Jamie Overton gave the innings a late push.

But by the time the chase started, the pitch had eased out, and the hosts could not take any advantage of the conditions. 55 runs were scored in the PP, and the match was over by then. Noor Ahmad returned with figures of 1/29, but there were 3-4 dropped catches that only made the matters worse. Sai Sudharsan ended up scoring 87 from 46 only.
