Kannada actor Kiccha Sudeep has joined the squad ahead of the CCL 2024 match between Karnataka Bulldozers and Mumbai Heroes at Sharjah. Sudeep who had been the captain of the franchise leading them to two titles, stepped aside last year making way for Pradeep.
Kiccha who has been an avid cricketer has now returned for the tenth edition of this tournament. He brings in a great wealth of experience and tips having also played in the Karnataka Premier League as a Captain and an owner. With his presence, the Bulldozers will aim for their third title.
Karnataka Bulldozers aim for CCL 2024 Trophy:
The Bulldozers, a consistently strong team in the tournament, have reached the semi-finals eight times, clinching the championship twice and finishing as runners-up on four occasions.
Their sole failure to qualify for the semi-finals occurred in 2017. Initially, they secured runner-up positions in the tournament’s first two editions before claiming back-to-back titles in the subsequent seasons.
In the 2023 season, the Bulldozers dominated the league stage, triumphing over the Bengal Tigers, Kerala Strikers, Chennai Rhinos, and Punjab De Sher. However, their journey was halted in the semi-finals by the Telugu Warriors, who secured victory by six wickets.
The Bulldozers are gearing up for their first encounter against Mumbai Heroes on Sunday, February 25 in the same venue. Subsequently, they will face off against the Bengal Tigers, Chennai Rhinos, and Telugu Warriors, with their final match taking place in Trivandrum while the others are scheduled in Hyderabad.
