Pakistan’s skipper Babar Azam is related to the Akmal family. Specifically, he is the first cousin of the three Akmal brothers: Kamran Akmal, Umar Akmal, and Adnan Akmal. Kamran Akmal, the former captain of the Pakistan cricket team alongside Umar Akmal and Adnan Akmal are Babar Azam’s cousin through their paternal uncle.
To note, Kamran Akmal was the first of his siblings to represent Pakistan. Later on, Umar Akmal and Adnan Akmal also went on to play for Pakistan. Kamran Akmal
Kamran Akmal represented Pakistan for more than 250 international matches. The wicketkeeper-batter made his debut back in 2002 and played his last match for Pakistan in 2017.
Umar Akmal
Just like his brother Kamran, Umar Akmal also went on to play 200+ matches for the Men in Green. His best came in the ODI format as he amassed 3194 runs in 110 innings. He has 20 fifties and two centuries under his name in the 50-over format.
Adnan Akmal
In a short career of 26 matches, Adnan Akmal scored 600+ runs including the Test and ODI format. The 39-year-old did not make his debut for Pakistan in the T20I format.
