Virat Kohli is the biggest brand in the world of cricket, and the proof of that was further evidenced when LA28 games posted a post on Instagram of Kohli. For the uninitiated, cricket will return to the Olympics after 128 years in the LA2028 Global Event in Los Angeles. Like everyone, the IOC is excited to bring cricket back to the world map, and naturally, the talk of the town is Kohli.
The LA Sports Director was lavish in praise of the legendary batter and said, “Virat Kohli is one of the main reasons behind Cricket’s inclusion in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.” The director also gushed about Kohli’s Instagram followers, and said, “I think Kohi is the third most followers athlete in the World after Ronaldo and Messi. That is more than LeBron James and Tiger Woods combined.

Will Kohli play in the LA2028 Olympics?
All eyes will yet again be on legendary batter Virat Kohli. While currently, the former India captain is 35 and has still a few years of cricket left in him, by 2028 40. The great Sachin Tendulkar retired at 39, bowing down as a World Cup winner. Kohli is yet to win a T20 World Cup. The right-hand batter will definitely play in next year’s T20 World Cup, however, the question remains whether he will the LA2028 Olympics.
For now, Kohli is supremely fit and is playing all three formats of the game. He still has not announced his retirement from any format of the game. Also, Kohli is one of the best batters in the T20I format for India amassing over 4000 runs.
Cricket to make a mark in LA2028 Olympics
ICC is delighted with Cricket in the Olympics potentially returning in 2028. In a statement, ICC said, “The International Cricket Council (ICC) is delighted at the decision of the organizers of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics to recommend cricket for inclusion at the Games.
After a two-year process, in which the ICC worked closely with LA28, the list of sports to be added to LA included cricket which will now be put forward for approval to the IOC.
