Ireland announce their 15-member squad for T20 World Cup 2024, veteran Paul Stirling to lead the team

Team India will kickstart their T20 World Cup 2024 campaign against Ireland, who recently unveiled their squad for the mega ICC event

Ireland have recently named a 15-member squad, led by veteran Paul Stirling, for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. Placed in Group A alongside India, Canada, USA and Pakistan, Ireland boasts a strong core of experienced players alongside some exciting young talents.

The squad features several match-winners, including fiery pacer Mark Adair, dependable batsman Andrew Balbirnie, rising star Harry Tector, and express fast bowler Craig Young. IPL fans will also recognize Joshua Little, the pace bowler currently featuring for the Gujarat Titans. Little will join the squad after Ireland completes its upcoming T20I commitments.

Ireland have a packed schedule prior to T20 WC

Ireland has a busy schedule leading up to the World Cup. They will play two T20I series – one against Pakistan at home and another tri-series in the Netherlands involving Scotland. The squads for these series are nearly identical to the World Cup squad, with the only difference being the later inclusion of Little.

Irish fans will be buoyed by their team’s performance in the 2022 edition of the tournament held in Australia. There, Ireland produced some memorable upsets, defeating powerhouses like West Indies and England. They will be hoping to replicate that success and make a deep run in the 2024 edition, which will be played in the West Indies and the USA.
