MS Dhoni changes look ahead of SRH clash, debuts new Samurai hairstyle

Despite his limited time at the crease, MS Dhoni has scored 91 runs from just six innings at a strike rate of 260

MS Dhoni has always been a trendsetter, both on and off the field. The Chennai Super Kings legend recently made headlines for his explosive performances in the IPL 2024. But this time, it wasn’t just his batting that grabbed attention—it was his new hairstyle. Dhoni debuted a Samurai-inspired look, sporting a ponytail and a neatly trimmed beard, drawing inspiration from traditional Japanese warriors.

The official CSK Twitter account shared a photograph captioned “Samurai,” where Dhoni is seen with his new ponytail, a tight-bound style that complements his intense performances on the field.

MS Dhoni’s explosive performance in IPL 2024

The 42-year-old former captain, who recently handed over the reins to Ruturaj Gaikwad, is proving that age is just a number. Despite his limited time at the crease, MS Dhoni has made a significant impact in the finisher’s role, scoring 91 runs from just six innings at a strike rate of 260. Out of those 91 runs, 80 came from boundaries, with eight fours and eight sixes.

How CSK can qualify for the IPL 2024 playoffs

CSK still has six league matches to play, half of which will be at their home stadium, MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Punjab Kings are the only team they will face twice in the remaining matches. If CSK wins at least four of their remaining six games, they will be in a strong position to qualify for the playoffs with 16 points. Dhoni will be seen in action again when CSK faces SRH on Sunday.
