The official Twitter handle of CSK on November 3 (Thursday) uploaded a video where the veteran is hitting the ball in the nets. Dhoni also popularly known as ‘Thala’ stepped down as CSK captain ahead of the IPL 2022 and Ravindra Jadeja was named the new leader. He also led Rising Pune Supergiant for two editions before getting back into CSK colours in 2018 and lifting the trophy after defeating the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the final match.
Thala then led the Yellow Army to their fourth title in 2021 after thrashing Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL final in UAE.

Under the leadership of Dhoni, the Men in Blue won the 2007 T20 World Cup, the 2011 World Cup, and the 2013 Champions Trophy. Dhoni was also one of the most consistent performers in the international format and has broken several records while representing his country. Dhoni retired from international cricket on August 15, 2020.
