He has set a base price at Rs 50 lakh which is less as compared to Rs 75 lakh during the previous year when he went unsold. The Karnataka had last played for Rajasthan Royals in 2013 as alleged involvement in the spot-fixing scandal cut short his IPL career. The life ban punishment imposed on Sreesanth was reconsidered by the Supreme Court in March 2019. As a result, BCCI reduced his ban to 7 years which meant he can take part in all forms of cricket from September 2020.
Sreesanth has played 44 IPL matches and taken 44 wickets. He has played for a number of franchises like Rajasthan Royals, Punjab Kings & now-defunct Kochi Tuskers Kerala.
He recently played the Vijay Hazare trophy 2020/21 where he scalped 13 wickets in 6 matches. He had shown hard work, determination even after losing seven years due to the ban. He is still fighting hard to play at the highest level.
Sreesanth was a part of the winning team, Rajasthan Royals in the inaugural season of 2008.
He was also part of India’s T20 World Cup-winning team of 2007 and also a member of the 2011 Triumphant World Cup Team India.
The mega auction will take place on February 12-13 ahead of the 15th edition.
