“To play our bowlers in the nets is more difficult… and they don’t treat us as teammates when they see us in the nets,” Rahul said while speaking about India’s bowling attack in the press conference.
“Slips are a great position to be in when M Shami, Bumrah, and (Mohammed) Siraj are bowling,” he further said.
With both Bumrah and Siraj retained by their respective IPL franchises and Mohd Shami available to be picked, KL Rahul might have Mohd Shami on his mind.
Both new teams – Lucknow and Ahmedabad can pick three players each ahead of the mega auction and Shami can be one of those three picks for yet to be named Lucknow franchise.
Did Punjab Kings make a blunder by releasing Rahul & Shami?
Playing for Punjab Kings, Mohd Shami has taken 58 wickets in 42 matches across three seasons. While KL Rahul has been in the leading run scorers’ chart for Punjab Kings, M Shami has been the leading wicket-taker for Kings in the last three seasons.
Punjab Kings surely have made a blunder by releasing both KL Rahul & M Shami and the Lucknow franchise will surely make the right move by reuniting the duo. And to add to it, they already have reunited KL Rahul with his former Punjab Kings coach Andy Flower.
