IPL Mega Auctions 2022: Five players who are set to go big in the auction – The Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction will take place on February 12 and 13 in Bengaluru. 10 franchises are gearing up for the auctions by brainstorming and discussing the possible permutations and combinations. They have 590 players to choose from and build a strong squad for the upcoming seasons of IPL.

IPL Mega Auctions 2022: While the marquee players like Ravi Ashwin, David Warner, Pat Cummins, and Shreyas Iyer are hogging the majority of the limelight, the franchises would also be looking out for quiet players like Kartik Tyagi, Harshal Patel, and KS Bharat, who had performed well during the IPL 2021. These players were not retained by their respective franchises and might bag lucrative deals during this year’s IPL.

1: Kartik Tyagi
The former Rajasthan Royals pacer Kartik Tyagi grabbed his chances in whatever little opportunities he got in IPL 2021. His most memorable performance was his last over heroics against Punjab Kings. Defending just four runs, he held his nerve and composure and enabled a tight win for the Royals. Kartik Tyagi can bowl at 140 consistently with precision and control.

A lot of franchises are looking out for Indian pace bowlers and Kartik Tyagi’s good performance in the IPL 2021 will make his case stronger. He has also set him a base price of 20 lakhs. So far he has played 14 games for the Royals and picked up 13 wickets.

2: Harshal Patel
Harshal ‘Purple’ Patel has now become his identity after his stellar show in IPL 2021. The pacer picked up 32 wickets and helped RCB reach the playoffs. Barring that one bad over against CSK, Patel ticked the majority of boxes and was Virat Kohli’s go-to-bowler in the middle and death overs. RCB though did not retain him as they choose to go with Mohammed Siraj.
Harshal Patel will be one of the bowlers the franchises will target owing to his brilliant show in IPL 2021. He has a lot of variations and is also a pretty handy customer with the bat in hand. The pacer’s performance is sure to make him a millionaire during the mega auctions.
3: Avesh Khan
Delhi Capitals had the likes of Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje as their main pace bowlers, but it was young Avesh Khan who hogged the majority limelight. The pacer took 24 wickets and truly arrived in IPL with a bang. Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant always turned to Avesh for wickets and most often than not he delivered.

The youngster was also entrusted to bowl a few tough overs in the death and he did a stellar job. Avesh would be among discussion among the few franchises. Several teams would have him as a long-term prospect also due to his age.

4: Harpreet Brar
Punjab all-rounder Harpreet Brar had to wait for nearly two years to get into the playing XI in the PBKS team. Brar finally got his chance and he truly made it count by scalping three big wickets in the form of Virat Kohli, Ab de Villiers, and Glenn Maxwell. The off-spinners value instantly skyrocketed and Brar become a household name. The all-rounder has just played 10 games for in IPL and has picked five wickets.
Things though could change this for Punjab players. With teams already retaining a few all-rounders in the team, Brar might land a big deal due to his all-around prowess.

5: KS Bharat
Not every day you get the perfect script and fairytale tale ending. KS Bharat had got one such ending and he capitalized by hitting a six and winning the match for RCB against DC in IPL 2021. The wicketkeeper batted sensibly and formed a good partnership with Glenn Maxwell. Not often do you get to overshadow a player like Australian all-rounder, but KS Bharat managed to do so.
Indian wicketkeeper-batters are what the franchises always strive to have due to availability and team combinations. KS Bharat’s blitz in the IPL 2021 will have quite a few franchises going after him in the mega auctions. He has so far played only 8 IPL games and has scored 191 runs.
