The two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders are still in contention in the IPL Playoff Race despite losing to Chennai Super Kings on Sunday and need to win three out of their remaining games to book a spot in the IPL 2021 playoffs.
DC vs KKR IPL 2021: Delhi Capitals were the first team to book their playoff spot and for back-to-back seasons. Sitting second in the points table with eight wins in ten encounters, Delhi Capitals is the side to watch out for in the ongoing season. However, DC are not letting their winning momentum down and will continue to push for top spot.
Interestingly, Kolkata Knight Riders have a slight upper hand when it comes to head-to-head records against Delhi Capitals. MI vs PBKS IPL 2021 @ 7:30 PM: In another interesting yet crucial fixture, Mumbai Indians will be facing off Punjab Kings at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi in the evening. The defending champions are yet to open their account in the UAE leg of the tournament and have lost all three games, slipping to the bottom second spot.
The Rohit Sharma-led side is struggling with the out-of-form middle order and will be eying to bounce back and turn things around when they take on KL Rahul’s Punjab Kings. With just four wins in ten encounters, Mumbai Indians are placed seventh but are not out of contention. They will have a chance to progress if they win all their four remaining matches to make it 16 points. However, they will also need to up their net run rate which stands at -0.551. However, three victories from 4 matches could send them to playoffs if other results go their way.
MI vs PBKS IPL 2021: Punjab Kings, on the opposite, registered 5 runs win over Sunrisers Hyderabad on Saturday after facing a disappointing 2 runs defeat against Rajasthan Royals in the opening fixture. Sitting at the fifth position, Punjab Kings too have 8 points from 10 matches but the momentum seems to be on their side. Interestingly, the KL Rahul Led side thrashed Mumbai Indians by 9 wickets when both teams met in Chennai in the first phase of the tournament.
Can they make it a double over Mumbai Indians and make qualifying scenarios even harder for the defending champions? Moreover, Punjab Kings too need to improve their NRR & also win 3 games out of 4 to qualify for IPL Playoffs.
