Most of the teams have announced their squad for the ICC Champions Trophy. But that is not the case for the Indian Cricket Team. The Men in Blue have sought a later date to announce their 15-member squad for the ICC tournament. Reports claim that the injury concerns of Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav have led to the delay.
Reports further claim that despite both players having their injury concerns, the selectors will keep them in the 15-member squad nonetheless. 12th January was the deadline to submit the provisional list for the squad, but Team India has decided to delay it. Meanwhile, the ICC Champions Trophy will be held from 19th February.
Fitness concerns continue for Kuldeep & Bumrah
As things stand, both the bowlers are not 100% fit. Jasprit Bumrah suffered a back stress injury during the IND vs AUS 5th Test in Sydney. He has not been selected in the IND vs ENG T20I series as he continues to get the much-needed rest and time to recover from his injury.
There are also doubts about his participation in the ICC event. But the Indian Team will be hoping that they get their best bowler for the mega event. On the other hand, Kuldeep Yadav has been missing action after having played the 1st Test against New Zealand last year.

The ace leggie suffered a groin injury and underwent surgery in Germany. He is currently reporting to the National Cricket Academy (NCA). Reports from Dainik Jagran claim that Kuldeep will be fit by the end of the month. This means that the ace spinner can be ready in time to be a part of the IND vs ENG ODI series.
The BCCI Selectors will be worried about the fitness and the recovery of these two-star players. The fans too will be hopeful that the duo return to the team as soon as possible.
