India vs Pakistan on July 21 as Women’s Asia Cup starts July 19

The Women's Asia Cup will be played in the T20 format in Sri Lanka, and will be a precursor to the T20 World Cup in September.

The 2024 women’s Asia Cup dates are out and the tournament will be played in Dambulla, Sri Lanka from July 19 to 28. The Asia Cup will be played in T20 format, involving eight teams, including the hosts Lanka, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, UAE, Nepal, Thailand and Malaysia.

Women’s Asia Cup Format

The teams will be divided into two groups, with India clubbed with Pakistan, UAE and Nepal in Group A. On the other hand, Sri Lanka will play Bangladesh, Thailand and Malaysia. The marquee India vs Pakistan clash will be held on July 21. The event will also serve as a curtain-raiser to the T20 World Cup in Septembers, scheduled to take place in Bangladesh.

ACC president Jay Shah said, “We are excited to see the increased participation and competitiveness among the teams, reflecting the growing popularity and importance of women’s cricket. This expansion, from six teams in 2018 to seven in 2022, and now eight, is a testament to our commitment to the women’s game and the burgeoning talent pool in Asian cricket.”

Jul 21- NEP vs UAE, IND vs PAK

Jul 22 – SL vs MAL, BAN vs THA

Jul 23 – PAK vs UAE, IND vs NEP

Jul 24 – BAN vs MAL, SL vs THA

Jul 26 – semi-finals

Jul 28 – final
