As per Cricbuzz, Axar Patel has replaced Kuldeep Yadav in India’s squad for the 2nd test in Bengaluru. Although Kuldeep was not picked as a back-up for Axar,  the team management decided to let go of the former considering the bunch of options at hand. India already have two left-arm spinners in Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel, with Ravichandran Ashwin and Jayant Yadav also adding up the numbers.

During the squad announcement, the BCCI had mentioned that Axar will miss out on the 1st Test, with his rehabilitation and further fitness determining his availability for the second game. The 27-year-old Ahmedabad-based spinner has been out of action since the Mumbai Test against New Zealand in December and missed the tour to South Africa.
