IND vs SL Test series: Sri Lanka’s injury crisis continues, speedster Lahiru Kumara ruled out of Pink ball Test with hamstring injury

As per reports in the Sri Lankan media, Lahiru Kumara has been ruled out of the IND vs SL Pink BAll Tests set to commence in Bengaluru on March 12. The 25-year-old sustained an injury during the third session, failing to complete would have been his 11th over in the game. Kumara was seen clutching his hamstring but was able to walk off to the dressing room but reports suggest that the speedster could very well be ruled out for two weeks.

A genuine fast bowler who bowls in the 145 kmph range, Kumara did cause some Indian batsmen trouble in the limited-overs series and picked up the wicket of Indian captain Rohit Sharma in the 1st Test. With the pink ball aiding swing and pace, Kumara would have been an asset to the visiting Lankans, who were left in shambles, following an innings and 222 run defeat in Mohali.

Jeffrey Vandersay’s availability is also in question, with the legspinner also reportedly nursing a blow.
