IND beat SA 4TH T20 Highlights: Chasing a target of 170, South Africa faltered. Temba Bavuma was rattled with bouncers before he hurt his elbow and had to leave the field. He could not take part any longer.
Soon, Quinton de Kock was run-out in the 5th over and Dwaine Pretorius in the 6th over, leaving South Africa three men down inside powerplay. South Africa could never recover from that.
While Rassie van der Dussen and Heinrich Klaasen tried to rebuild, Yuzvendra Chahal trapped Klaasen leg-before, dealing a big blow. But it was David Miller’s wicket that put India on course to victory. Miller who has been in fantastic form was cleaned up by Harshal Patel, dealing the biggest blow. Soon, Rassie van der Dussen was removed. In the end, South Africa was dismissed for 87, their lowest total as India cruised to their biggest win against the Proteas.

Earlier, sent to bat, India’s two designated finishers — Hardik Pandya and Dinesh Karthik — rescued India from a heap of trouble to set a competitive 170-run target for South Africa in Rajkot. The two brought up a brilliant 65-run partnership after India could only manage less than a run a ball in the first 13 overs.
India were off to a poor start with Ruturaj Gaikwad departing in the second over off a Lungi Ngidi delivery. Soon, Shreyas Iyer was trapped leg-before by Marco Jansen. Rishabh Pant also extended his poor run of form. The Indian captain for the series could only manage 23-ball 17, putting India under pressure.
But then came Dinesh Karthik and the equation changed. With Hardik Pandya, he added 65-runs and pressure was back on South Africa.

Dinesh Karthik, who played India’s inaugural T20 match back in 2006, was the man-Friday for India. He ended a long 16-year wait to score his maiden half-century for India in T20Is but it was worth the wait. His 27-ball 55 and Hardik Pandya’s 31-ball 46 took India to 169/6.
