England spinner Rehan Ahmed stopped & questioned at airport for incorrect visa

Immigration officials stopped England leg-spinner Rehan Ahmed at the Hirasar airport near Rajkot for incorrect visa ahead of IND vs ENG Test.

England Cricket Team have faced another visa snag upon re-entering India following a week-long break during IND vs ENG Test series. Rehan Ahmed was the only one who was stopped and questioned at the Hirasar airport near Rajkot for carrying an incorrect visa. At the temporary immigration counter, Rehan’s visa was found to be a single-entry visa.

With a single-entry visa, a person cannot exit and reenter India. England Cricket Team left India following the 2nd Test in Vizag to rejuvenate in Abu Dhabi. They took a charter flight to Rajkot directly. However, immigration officials stopped Rehan Ahmed at the airport as per Sportstar. This is the second time England are facing visa snag after Shoaib Bashir’s paperwork was incorrect.

“The England team has been advised to process the visa again which will be happening in the next two days. The player was allowed to enter the country with the rest of the team and he will be appearing in practice on Tuesday,” a BCCI official told Hindustan Times.

Latest on IND vs ENG Test

However, local authorities helped Rehan Ahmed obtain a two-day visa. He will join England’s practice on Tuesday in Rajkot. Third IND vs ENG Test begins on Feb 15.

England will have to complete his paperwork within the timeframe. Rehan Ahmed received his visa during World Cup as a standby player. However, the visa was single-entry visa. As England left India and reentered, England was supposed to renew his visa or have multi-entry visa. That they did not.
