“We trust those two guys as well and we’ll give them as long as possible (to prove their fitness),” Buttler told reporters at Adelaide Oval on Wednesday.

Wood pulled up during a light jog in the optional session on Tuesday and withdrew as a precaution. England later confirmed that Wood had generalized body stiffness. While left-handed batter Malan hobbled off the field in the 15th over after pulling up while chasing a ball to the boundary In England’s final Group 1 encounter against Sri Lanka in Sydney.
Buttler said the decision to include the duo lay with medical staff ahead of the match at Adelaide Oval.
“As always we have 15 guys preparing to play.”
The only other unused batter in the England squad, Phil Salt, might replace the number three batter, Malan, although the selectors might decide to add another bowler instead.
Hard-hitting wicketkeeper Salt, a member of the Big Bash League team Adelaide Strikers, has depth understanding of the venue, according to Buttler. “I think he has a fantastic mindset for the T20 format, He certainly doesn’t fear anyone. Certainly, I wouldn’t expect to see anything else from him if he gets the chance to play.”
India and England will play one other for the first time ever on in a T20 World Cup knockout match on Thursday. “We all are really excited about the match. In my opinion, one of the best stadiums in the world, against a brilliant Indian team which will be well-supported tomorrow. It’s going to be a great occasion and these are the times you want to be involved as a player,” concluded Buttler.
