It’s been two days since Pakistan lost their second match on the trot in the T20 World Cup, this time against India. However, the aftermath of the defeat is still ongoing with former players and officials of Pakistan slamming the players of the national team for their lackluster performance in IND vs PAK. Players like Shaheen Afridi and Imad Wasim are facing most of the flak because of their poor outing.
Imad Wasim accused of hiding injury
Former Pakistan Chief Selector Muhammad Wasim accused all-rounder Imad Wasim of hiding an injury to play for Pakistan. Notably, Imad played an innings of 15 off 23 balls. The innings pushed Pakistan to the brink of elimination from the T20 World Cup.
“A lot of revelations will come out. They won’t stay hidden. If you’re claiming a rib injury, and it’s actually a knee injury… It’s a long-standing injury that you can see while running between the wickets, while bowling, and while fielding,” Muhammad Wasim said to Samaa TV.
PCB made deals with Imad Wasim, Shaheen Afridi: Mohammed Hafeez
Former Pakistan opener Mohammed Hafeez took a dig at PCB. He accused the board of making a deal with Shaheen Afridi and Imad Wasim that made them come out of their retirements.
“They brought them here out of greed, made deals with such players who have ruined Pakistan’s cricket. I was in the domestic circuit, but no one wants to play domestic cricket. It’s because they were telling me, ‘Hafeez bhai, if any of us gets selected, we will take it. How can players who don’t even play Pakistan’s domestic cricket get selected?” Hafeez asked in a viral video.

‘Imad Wasim wasted deliveries deliberately’
Another former cricketer Saleem Malik raised serious match-fixing allegations on Imad Wasim.
“You look at his (Wasim) innings and it appears as if he was wasting balls not scoring runs and making things difficult in the run-chase,” Saleem Malik said on 24 News channel.
