ICC announces prize money for the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024

Last time in 2023, Australia took home the breathtaking amount of $1 million (INR 8.22 crore) after defeating South Africa in the finals, while the Proteas women got $500,000 (INR 4.2 crore).

The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 is set to start from October 3rd to 20th in Bangladesh. With ten teams and twenty-three matches, it looks like nothing but a thriller is on the plate. Bangladesh is all set to host all the T20 World Cup matches.

The Shere Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka. And the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet will host all the games where ten teams will fight for silver. But apart from the trophy, all eyes are also on the cash prize. As of now, the ICC hasn’t announced the prize money for the Women’s T20 World Cup winner, but it is almost certain that it will be huge.

Equal pay for both men’s and women’s teams

Last year, the ICC announced that men’s and women’s cricket teams would receive equal prize money at all ICC tournaments. Since the ICC recently announced the prize money for the Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. The historic prize pot of $11.25 million have been locked in. And it is almost certain that the same prize pot will be picked up for the women’s tournament as well.
