PAK vs AFG: Ibrahim Zadran, Rahmat Shah shine as Afghanistan triumph over Pakistan in World Cup

Afghanistan successfully chased down a target of 282 against Pakistan, with key innings from Zadran, Rahmat Shah, and Rahmanullah Gurbaz. Zadran led the scoring with 87 runs, Shah finished unbeaten with 77, and Gurbaz made an impressive 65 off 53 deliveries. Skipper Hasmatullah Shahidi also played a pivotal role, contributing 48 not out from 45 balls.

Afghanistan had previously lost seven ODIs to Pakistan, but in their latest encounter, they finally found the finishing touches they needed. All four of their batters performed exceptionally well, contributing to their highest-ever successful run-chase in the history of the 50-over format. This win marks Afghanistan’s second win in the tournament, with their earlier triumph being against defending champions England in New Delhi.

With a total of four points, Afghanistan now sit in the sixth position in the middle of the table. Meanwhile, Pakistan, currently in fifth place, is facing a challenging situation after a hat-trick of defeats. Another loss to South Africa later in their upcoming match could potentially eliminate their chances of progressing to the knockout stage.
