Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul leave Team India camp during WC? Deets here

Only India has all nine of its league games scheduled across multiple venues during the campaign.

Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Jasprit Bumrah and many other members of Indian Cricket Team have not left Team India camp. But instead they have opted for short break in Dharamshala. Team India is currently playing in the ODI World Cup 2023, and are currently sitting at the top of the points table. So what prompted this short break for Indians? Know here.

After their World Cup game against New Zealand on Sunday, the Indian cricket team’s initial plan was for a quick vacation to visit their family.

The players will benefit from the seven-day break between the games against New Zealand (October 22) and England (October 29), which will help with the World Cup’s lengthy and taxing nature.

The majority of the players, including Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, have been traveling since Sri Lanka and Pakistan shared hosting duties for the Asia Cup from August 30 to September 17.

Under the condition of anonymity, a BCCI source had told PTI earlier that: “It is only fair that players get some time with their families since there is a seven-day gap between the two matches.”

Notably, Hardik Pandya is still at NCA, Bengaluru and he will link up with Team India directly in Lucknow.

Much-needed rest for Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma

The players are expected to assemble in Lucknow on October 26 in order to get ready for their upcoming World Cup match.

The Indian team management has done a good job of planning the practice sessions, taking into account the players’ tough travel itineraries and workload management, especially for the fast bowlers.

Senior players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma may find this break to be a benefit because they have important games coming up.
