Half full or half empty? GT vs SRH match witnesses scanty crowd in first innings

GT vs SRH: The Motera Stadium boasts of seating capacity of over 130,000 spectators, one of the highest in the world.

Call it declining interest in the IPL, or just the rising temperatures all over the country, the GT vs SRH match on Sunday at the Motera Stadium in Ahmedabad looked empty during the first half of the encounter. The other way to look at it could be, the enormous structure of the stadium, that can seat over 130,000 spectators at a time.

In what looked like a scanty crowd for the 3.30 PM match, the seats were only occupied in the patches. While a clear match attendance wasn’t available, it looked on the lower side.

The likes of Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head, and Heinrich Klaasen had smashed blinding fifties to take their team to the highest-ever IPL score. They would like to continue the winning momentum.

On the other hand, Gujarat would be looking to get their campaign back on track, after they lost their last match against CSK by a massive 63 runs. They had won their first vs Mumbai Indians by six runs.
