Sourav Ganguly has one wish from Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant

Sourav Ganguly met Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant on the sidelines of WPL 2024 in Bengaluru and hopes he will be ready for IPL 2024.

When will Rishabh Pant return? That’s the question all the cricket fans have been asking for the last one and a half year. Since his near-fatal car crash, Pant has been out, making slow progress. But that wait is about to end in IPL 2024. Pant will return to competitive cricket in IPL 2024 and will lead Delhi Capitals. But with no competitive cricket behind his back, DC director Sourav Ganguly has sent a message to the youngster.

He wants Rishabh Pant to get his rhythm back as quickly as possible. With the Australia tour in December, India need him to be back at his best. However, DC co-owner Parth Jindal confirmed that Pant won’t be returning to wicketkeeping duties in the first half of IPL.

“It’s a huge boost for Delhi Capitals because Indian players are gold in the IPL. Obviously, he has not played much cricket and I hope he gets back to rhythm very quickly. It’s been a while he is away from competitive cricket, almost 17-18 months,” Sourav Ganguly told RevSportz in an interview.

Rishabh Pant comeback

After undergoing a ligament reconstruction surgery, Rishabh Pant is currently in the final stages of rehabilitation. Currently at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, Pant played match simulations and practice matches. And with IPL 2024 set to begin on March 22, he will be ready.

“He has worked very hard to make a comeback. He is confident and wants to play for Delhi Capitals and India. I am extremely happy he is back and hope he gets through the season,” Sourav Ganguly said.

The former India captain and BCCI president met with Rishabh Pant on the sidelines of WPL 2024 in Bengaluru.

With less than a month to go, Ganguly is happy with Pant’s progress. And he believes Rishabh Pant is ready for a comeback.

“I met him in Bangalore recently. He is getting ready and hopefully will play in IPL 2024. He looked very confident about playing in the IPL 2024 which begins from March 22. And that’s seriously good news for us in Delhi and India,” Ganguly added.
