From 2007 to 2022, list of winning captains in T20 World Cup

From the inaugural season in 2007 to 2022, here is the list of all the winning captains in the T20 World Cup tournament.

The ninth edition of the T20 World Cup, scheduled to commence on June 2, marks a significant milestone as it ventures into uncharted territory, with the USA and co-host West Indies serving as the tournament’s first-time hosts. Across the previous eight editions, six captains have etched their names in history by lifting the prestigious trophy. Notably, Indian captain MS Dhoni set the tone by clinching the inaugural title in 2007, inaugurating a legacy that continues to shape the tournament’s narrative.

Daren Sammy stands out as the sole captain who has clinched multiple ICC T20 World Cup titles. On the other hand, MS Dhoni of India, Paul Collingwood of England, Lasith Malinga of Sri Lanka, and Pakistan’s Younis Khan have each celebrated victory once in this prestigious tournament. Interestingly, none of these five accomplished individuals will be included in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021.
