Former Zimbabwe cricketer attacked by leopard, pet dog saves life

Guy Whittall played 46 Tests and 147 ODIs for Zimbabwe in a career spanning 10 years. He last played an international match in 2003.

Former Zimbabwe legend Guy Whittall has survived a horrific leopard attack and had to undergo an emergency surgery after the same. He was airlifted from Buffalo Range, Zimbabwe. Right after the incident, the photos of a bloodied Whittall have gone viral. Hannah Stocks Whittall, Guy’s wife shared the pictures, and explained as to what had happened with the ex cricketer.

Hannah wrote in her post,” Guy and I are overwhelmed by the hundreds of messages of well wishers after guys run in with a wounded leopard earlier today – We are very fortunate that he was stabilized at Hippo Clinic by wonderful staff. He was then Airlifted from Buffalo Range by Ace Ambulance to Harare, then transferred to Milton Park Hospital for treatment.

What Happened with Guy Whittall?

Whittall runs a safari business in Zimbabwe and was attacked by the leopard while trekking through the conservancy at Humani. Meanwhile, this is not the first time Whittall encountered a wild animal. Back in 2013, he discovered an 8-foot-long crocodile hiding under his bed. It was reported that the 150-kg crocodile came into the Humani lodge and spent the entire night under his bed.
