Andrew Flintoff finally had something to cheer about after horrific Top Gear accident in December last year as BBC agrees for settlement

In what comes as a relief for Andrew Flintoff, BBC have reached a settlement following the horrific car crash he endured while filming Top Gear last year. The former England all-rounder survived a nasty accident on December 12, 2022. Such was the impact of the blow, that Flintoff suffered massive scars around his face. For now, the former CSK player will get Rs 144 Crorer compensation

“BBC Studios has reached an agreement with Freddie that we believe supports his continued rehabilitation, return to work, and plans,” a statement from the company read according to The Sun. 

“We have sincerely apologized to Freddie and will continue to support him with his recovery.”

BBC had also previously apologized to Flintoff in March when the former England captain was asked to do an independent third-party review for Top Gear. BBC also carried out a lot of investigations after the accident, in which Flintoff was interviewed twice. Finally, in March, the BBC closed the case, as no further investigation was needed.

Andrew Flintoff agreed with a£ 9 million settlement 

A source said: “Fred has been left utterly traumatized and shell-shocked by this entire episode.

“You cannot underestimate the physical and mental toll this crash had on him.

“He could have easily sued BBC Studios – and perhaps got considerably more from them – but instead agreed to settle privately, with as little animosity as possible.

“By the time Freddie returns next year at the earliest, he will have lost out on almost two years earnings.

Flintoff was the first time in seen in public in September. His face was bruised, with scars around his nose and chin. The former England captain was also seen in a mentoring role for England team for their bilateral series against New Zealand.
