Jay Shah masterstroke for Asia Cup!

The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has announced the launch of the Women’s Under-19 T20 Asia Cup, a biennial tournament aimed at nurturing young talent in women’s cricket. The inaugural edition is scheduled for mid-December 2024, leading up to the Under-19 T20 World Cup. This initiative, under the leadership of ACC President Jay Shah, is a significant step towards fostering women’s cricket in Asia. Jay Shah will have to leave the ACC role when he sits on his ICC Chairmanship role.

Sanju Samson in Duleep Trophy!

Sanju Samson has replaced Ishan Kishan in India D. Most of the fans might have overlooked this replacement when BCCI announced the updated squad for the second round of the Duleep Trophy. While Kishan didn’t play the first match as well, it was KS Bharat who had a bad outing. He failed to score runs. Unfortunately for him, his place in the Indian team has been taken by Dhruv Jurel as well. But now that Samson is in the squad, the Kerala superstar is all but likely to walk into the first XI for India D in their clash against India A.

Rohit Sharma to leave MI?

Former India and KKR player Aakash Chopra has speculated that Rohit Sharma may not remain with the Mumbai Indians (MI) for the IPL 2025 auction. Chopra believes that either Rohit himself might choose to leave or the franchise might release him. He added that Rohit’s journey with MI seems to be coming to an end, especially after MI made Hardik Pandya the captain from IPL 2024.

Champions Trophy schedule?

The ICC is set to visit Pakistan this month to assess preparations for the 2025 Champions Trophy. The tentative schedule that was sent by PCB is still under consideration due to India’s potential absence. The delegation will inspect venues, meet security officials, and discuss logistics. The BCCI’s Jay Shah, who will become ICC chair in December, could influence the tournament’s fate most likely.
