DRS, Dec 11: RCB wanted Shami & Chahal, ‘injured’ Bumrah skips practice & Kohli changes technique

Welcome to our special segment, DRS or the Daily Review System. In this, InsideSport will provide you with the top cricket stories from a day before that you might have missed in the hustle and bustle of your busy life.

It was an optional practice day for the Indian cricket team in Adelaide. Although the India vs Australia 3rd Test is in Brisbane, Team India has chosen to stay back. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, and Shubman Gill hit the nets while fast bowlers Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah skipped practice. Kohli also decided to bowl some of his ‘dangerous’ slow medium pace to Gill. Let’s move to franchise cricket. We have some Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Pakistan Super League (PSL) news. Lastly, a domestic development about the upcoming elections of the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA).

Jasprit Bumrah injured?

Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj chose to skip practice before the India vs Australia 3rd Test. Both bowled over 20 overs each in Adelaide and decided to kick their feet up. However, this had led to talks of Bumrah being injured. Former Australian pacer Damien Fleming thinks the pacer wasn’t just cramping in Adelaide and also cited his oddly slow first over in the second innings.

Virat Kohli changes his technique

After his twin failures in Adelaide, Virat Kohli is changing a few things. Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh has revealed that Kohli was working on his backfoot play after looking indecisive in the 2nd Test. Kohli seemed to be adamant about playing everything on the front foot in Adelaide and wants to change things up in Brisbane.

Currently, Rohan Jaitley holds it, but Kirti Azad is looking to end his reign. Before the voting took place, Azad had alleged that Jaitley spent a meager Rs 7 crore on cricket expenditure and the remaining Rs 133 crore that was granted by the BCCI wasn’t wasted away on other things.

Draft date for PSL 2025 out

The PSL 10 draft will take place on January 11. For those who are unaware, the draft to PSL is what the auction is to the IPL. With the PSL 2025 season to be played in April-May, the tournament will miss out on overseas stars who’ll be playing in the IPL 2025 during that time but can get those players who went unsold.
